From the beginning the Parkway family has been committed to building a Christian family where the love and truth of Christ is proclaimed, practiced, and experienced! We have dedicated ourselves to making God's love and power real to people of all ages in our community.

What is now Parkway Baptist Church began in 1988 as a small group meeting in homes and later in rented space at Kansas City Kansas Community College. In 1990 we constituted as a church and built our present meeting place.

Over time, God's continual blessings allowed our church family to expand! New programs were being implemented and Sunday School classes multiplied. The small church in the middle of a Kansas City corn field was growing...God was truly showering His blessings on the Parkway family!

With the addition of the Kansas Speedway just two miles down the road, other developments soon followed suit, bringing a renewed vitality to western Wyandotte County. Along with various business ventures, new housing developments began to spring up in nearby neighborhoods. By 2003, we realized that we would soon run out of space in our current building. We knew we needed to step out in faith and answer God's call to provide a caring, loving church home for the families that would soon relocate to our area. We're happy to report that God's bountiful grace allowed us to open a new education wing to our facility in the fall of 2005!
